Hi my name is Chip. I’ve been gardening for oh about 10 years now (multiply that by a small number to be more accurate, but I still feel like I’m 20). I have always used traditional outdoor methods to raise my plants just like my father did. I had a few mistakes in the past but only recently did I realize the true benefits to having a greenhouse. My entire garden was wiped out by a really nasty cold-snap.

After that I was determined to prevent all loving mother nature from destroying my work again. I didn’t have a ton of money and was still sore from wasting all my time that planting season so I immediately sought out a cheap greenhouse. I found so-called cheap kits at Home Depot and Lowe’s but they were still over $700 for everything. I looked around the store and found the prices of lumber and materials and came away under $300 for the same stuff. It’s wasn’t much more than some sawing and hammering and I had a homemade greenhouse built to my specifications.

I can’t tell you how proud I really am of my project. My wife certainly seems to appreciate it now that she has flowers year round too.
